{Some do say that that is the case. (We seem to be) a bit patterned after them because they do comedy and we also do comedy. But since we've done that (comedy), Jolina and I have been involved in other types (of films). All love teams would probably dream of being like them, be as celebrated as they were before. Until now, their popularity hasn't waned. But of course, we would like to have our own identity.} Word has it that the reason why Marvin and Jolina's onscreen romance hasn't transcended real life is because they do not have time for each other.
(She has her priorities, I have mine. I'm not saying that we should make love our second priority. But we got to know each other while we were already involved in this type of work. I would prefer that if we become steadies, our priorities do not stand in the way. I would like to be able to accept that. I wouldn't like our schedules, our lack of time for each other, to be the source of our conflict.) How would it affect Marvin should the time come that he and Jolina part ways?
"Minsan you just have to accept na hindi pang habang buhay kayo magkasama, di ba? Sometimes, you need naman to grow.
(Sometimes, you just have to accept that you can't be together forever, right? Sometimes, you need to grow. But I hope that doesn't happen too soon.) Source: Cristy Per Minute, December 16, 1997 Episode
